Mountain erupts late to reach the U.S. championship
The Mountain Region (Nevada) followed a pitching masterclass with a sudden offensive burst to eliminate the Midwest Region (Iowa). Nevada began the sixth inning with nine straight runs to make the game safe before Iowa answered with six in the bottom half, finishing just short. The win moved Nevada into the U.S. championship.
Curaçao’s 10-run inning changes the game
Curaçao and Latin America were scoreless after the first inning before Curaçao piled on 10 runs in the top of the second. A bases-loaded single from Raymiel Antonia drove in three, and Q’Jeaume Valks added an RBI single in the sixth to put the result beyond doubt.
Japan stays alive; Great Lakes rolls past Southeast
Japan scored four in the second inning and Taiga Yumitori added a three-run home run in the third to build a 7-0 edge it never surrendered against Canada. Japan will now take on Latin America with the international final on the line. Great Lakes, meanwhile, collected 12 hits and eight walks in an 11-2 win over Southeast. Bryson Williams went 3-for-4 and also pitched four innings with four strikeouts.
